Privacy policy: Full Page Screenshot, Element & Area Capture

Effective date

Publisher
Weddle Media
Extension version
1.0.0

Full Page Screenshot, Element & Area Capture processes webpage content only when a user intentionally starts a capture. This policy explains what the extension accesses and how that information is handled.

Information the extension handles

To create a screenshot, the extension temporarily accesses the visible content and layout of the active webpage. A capture may include information displayed on that page, including personal or sensitive information if it is visible when the user starts the capture.

The extension also records the page title, source URL, capture type, image dimensions, creation time, and generated PNG so the result can be shown in its preview page.

How information is used

The information is used only to provide the user-requested screenshot functionality: selecting content, scrolling the page when needed, capturing image tiles, stitching or cropping them, previewing the result, copying it, and downloading it as a PNG.

Local processing and storage

All screenshot processing occurs locally in the user’s Chrome browser. The extension does not transmit screenshots, page content, browsing activity, page titles, URLs, or capture metadata to Weddle Media or any third party.

The five most recent captures are stored locally in the extension’s browser storage so preview tabs can display them. Older captures are automatically removed. Removing the extension deletes its locally stored extension data. Downloaded or copied images are controlled by the user and are not deleted by removing the extension.

Accounts, advertising, and analytics

The extension does not require an account. It does not contain advertising, third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or code that sells or shares user data.

Google may provide Weddle Media with aggregate Chrome Web Store statistics, such as installations, uninstalls, and broad geographic information. Those statistics are provided by Google and are not collected by the extension itself.

Permissions

The extension uses temporary access to the active tab only after the user invokes a capture. It uses Chrome’s scripting capability to display the element or area selector and to prepare the page for capture. It uses an offscreen extension document to stitch and encode the requested PNG locally.

The extension does not request ongoing access to every website and cannot run on restricted Chrome pages such as chrome:// pages or the Chrome Web Store.

Data sharing and sale

Weddle Media does not receive, sell, rent, or share screenshots, webpage content, browsing history, or other information handled by the extension.

Limited use of Google API data

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

If the extension’s data practices materially change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before those changes are released.
